Statewide
Culinary herbalist, food writer, and photographer with more than 25 books and a career built on making herbs central to how we cook and live.

Kitchen alchemy, herb by herb.

Susan Belsinger is a food writer, editor, and photographer who has authored and edited more than 25 books and hundreds of articles. A culinary herbalist and educator, her work has appeared in publications including Gourmet, Food & Wine, Organic Gardening, Fine Gardening, and The Washington Post. She has given lectures and demonstrations on herbs, edible flowers, chiles, and seasonal cooking throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, and has appeared on Good Morning America, CBS Morning News, and PBS. Her long collaboration with Tina Marie Wilcox, including their co-authored The Creative Herbal Home, reflects a shared belief that herbs belong in daily life, not just in gardens. At the Arkansas Folklife Festival, Belsinger brings that philosophy to the Foodways stage: practical, rooted, and deeply flavorful.
