Pam Setser
Mountain View’s living link to the Ozark music tradition.
Pam Setser hails from Mountain View, Arkansas, where she became a part of the Simmons Family Band when she was five years old. She has spent her life immersed in the music and traditions of the Ozarks, performing at the Ozark Folk Center, on stages across the country, and at countless community gatherings, jam sessions, and front‑porch picks.
Setser sings and plays guitar, auto-harp, dulcimer, and other instruments. She currently performs with the Pam Setser Band, Apple & Setser, the Leatherwoods, and the Ozark Granny Chicks.
At the Arkansas Folklife Festival, Setser appears in two conversations on the Common Threads Stage: the Old Time Scene: Ozark Strings session with Clarke Buehling and Pete Howard, and a conversation with Alison Lee on the evolving legacy of the Committee of 100 for the Ozark Folk Center.
