Pete Masri

Original songs, open strings, and the Fayetteville square.
Pete Masri is a guitarist and songwriter based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, whose work sits at the intersection of ragtime, fingerstyle folk, and American roots music. He performs original compositions and has shared bills with Fayetteville fixtures like Still on the Hill, appearing at George’s Majestic Lounge, the Fayetteville Square, and Arkansas Music Week. His song “Satisfied Rag,” performed live in downtown Fayetteville, is a good introduction: melodic, unhurried, and entirely his own. At the Arkansas Folklife Festival, Masri brings that same sensibility to the stage: one guitar, original songs, and the kind of playing that earns a quiet room.
