Anupriya Krishnan is an accomplished Bharatanatyam artist with over three decades of experience in the classical Indian dance tradition. Trained under renowned gurus including Padmabhushan Shobana Chandrakumar, she has performed extensively in prestigious music and dance festivals in India and across the Greater Dayton and Cincinnati areas for more than 20 years.

Krishnan holds a Master’s in Bharatanatyam from Tamil University, Tanjore, and a diploma in Nattuvangam under Dr. Guru Bharadwaj. Alongside her artistic journey, she also holds a double Master’s in Engineering and works for Wright State University. She continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of dancers through her passionate teaching and deep commitment to the art.

At the Arkansas Folklife Festival, Krishnan appears in conversation with her apprentice Sangamitra Reshmy, sharing the rigor, reverence, and joy of Bharatanatyam as a living tradition that has crossed continents and generations.
