Pickin' Circle with the Rackensack Folklore Society

Pull up a chair and join the Rackensack Folklore Society’s open circle of fiddle tunes, folk songs, and the simple joy of making music together. ASL interpretation provided.

Pull up a chair, tune up your instrument, and join the circle. Led by the Rackensack Folklore Society, this participatory gathering celebrates one of Arkansas’s most enduring musical traditions: neighbors making music together.

Whether you’re an experienced picker, a beginning musician, or simply a listener who loves old-time tunes, all are welcome. Expect a lively mix of fiddle tunes, folk songs, bluegrass standards, and regional favorites passed from generation to generation across Arkansas and the Ozarks. There’s no stage and no audience, just a shared musical experience where everyone has a place.

For decades, the Rackensack Folklore Society has helped preserve and promote traditional music, dance, and folklore throughout Arkansas. This pickin’ circle continues that tradition, creating space for learning, storytelling, mentorship, and the simple joy of making music together.

Bring an instrument, bring a song, or just bring your ears. The circle is open.

ASL interpretation will be provided for this event.
