Harmonizing in Arkansas: Songwriting Workshop

Join us at 2 pm on Saturday June 27th to explore the role of songwriting as a tool for storytelling and civic memory. Folk singer Willi Carlisle, known for his songwriting and commitment to community-centered folk traditions, will lead participants through guided discussion, lyric writing exercises, and collaborative creation that honors both personal narrative and collective voice. The workshop is part of the Arkansas Folklife Festival and designed for songwriters, musicians, students, and community members of all experience levels who are interested in exploring how music can help us remember, connect, and move forward together as part of The People’s 250.
This program is presented in partnership with Humanities Arkansas with program support from the Federation of State Humanities Councils.
