S. Juain Young & Artists United

Founded in 2004 in Little Rock, Arkansas, S. Juain Young & Artists United was established in response to a clear need for greater artistic visibility and opportunity across the state. Under the visionary leadership of S. Juain, the organization became a dynamic platform where artists of all ages and diversities could showcase their gifts, cultivate their talents, and grow both personally and professionally.

What began as a grassroots effort has evolved into a transformative arts movement. Artists United has impacted countless lives through theater, vocal performance, dance, and multidisciplinary artistic expression. Known for authenticity, excellence, and a heart-centered mission, the organization uses the arts as a vehicle for empowerment, education, and community connection.

Artists United has proudly traveled and performed for years alongside the Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission, contributing to commemorative and educational programming honoring Dr. King’s legacy. The ensemble has been showcased at distinguished venues throughout Arkansas, including the Historic Arkansas Museum, Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock, the Delta Cultural Center in Helena, Parkin Archeological State Park, the Eddie Mae Herron Center and Museum in Pocahontas, and many other venues and events here and beyond.

Versatility is a hallmark of the organization. S. Juain & Artists United seamlessly transitions from old school to new school, from gospel to R&B, meeting audiences where they are while maintaining artistic integrity. Their performances are designed not only to entertain but also to inspire and provoke meaningful reflection.

One of their signature theatrical productions, Kinfolks, explores the rich and complex tapestry of the United States. The production highlights the diverse nations and cultures that have helped build this country, sharing stories of the enslaved, freedmen, immigrants, and visionaries. Through intentional moments of reflection, audiences are encouraged to look inward, grow, and strive to become better human beings within their communities.
